To all current ladies, girls and prospective players,
We are pleased to be able to report that, during their recent AGM, the member clubs of the Nidderdale Ladies Evening League voted to invite BRCC to play in their 20 overs mid-week evening competition.
The first year is a probationary year and we get to play all the teams in the league. They get a chance to check us out, and likewise we get a chance to see how we perform, how much we enjoy it and also learn what we need to do to be reasonably competetive next season.
We see this as the next logical step in the development of womens cricket at BRCC. Many of our U16 team from last year are now too old to play U16 so we were keen to give then an opportunity to continue to play cricket. We also recognise that - due to the limited level of opposition in the area - we struggled to get the U16's enough cricket. This move allows us to offer a guarrantee of cricket in 2009 - and with no age limit we are pleased to report that we will now be able to offer cricket to all players as we know some of the older players were dissappointed last year.
We have quite a bit of work to do to get ready. First up will be to organise a meeting/presentation to players (current and prospective) and we already have a meeting with the YCC Womens Cricket Development Officer scheduled for the first week after New Year.
Please check out the web site or if you are not subscribed please do so. We will continue to update everyone on developments as we move forward as usual via the web site.

Best wishes for 2009 eveyone. See you next year.
